Interview with Chef Bombay of Jet 7 Bistro Catering


Jet 7 Bistro Catering has been highly talked about in the food industry. They are known to deliver delicious diner dishes, as well as comfort food, during parties and corporate events. Just recently, Chef Bombay, the head chef, gave an interview with Saladbox, Inc. on what makes Jet 7 Bistro Catering tick — he talked about what goes on behind-the- scenes, the preps before an event, what makes Jet 7 standout, and his favorite dishes to cook in his spare time. The Interview

Sab from Saladbox: So Chef Bombay, we’ve heard there’s been a massive rebranding with the menu. Can you spill on the new developments?

Chef Bombay: There’s still the diner theme, but we added some Japanese, Filipino, and Italian dishes to the mix. People wanted more variety so we gave them that. Plus, we’re now also offering cold appetizers.

Sab: What do you think would be your specialties under this new menu?

CB: Definitely our carving station during events — people flock to that table! There’s roast beef and lechon, which is our best-seller. Salmon seems to be popular among our clients as well.

S: Among the food items available, what are your personal favorites?

CB: My personal favorites? It definitely would have to be the beef — we curate it in our own way, which makes it even more special once we serve it. Other top picks would have to be the ribeye with horseradish, caldereta, roast porchetta, and the sisig.

S: Sounds delicious! How about your fave dishes to cook off-duty?

CB: I go for my sinigang, especially when I’ll be having guests for the day. I also brought in my own recipes of pan-seared salmon and my version of a Caesar salad to Jet 7 Bistro Catering. Guests at parties seem to love it — it contains salted egg, candied nuts, and mixed greens. It’s very in demand, and I’m happy about that.

S: That’s great to hear! Well, going back to Jet 7, what do you think makes the catering standout from the rest?

CB: Of course, I have to emphasize the flavor and quality of the dishes. We make sure that we’re not serving anything we’re not proud of. Plus, at Jet 7 Bistro Catering, we actually assist our clients when it comes to finding the appropriate venue for their event. The crew even helps out in finding the proper sounds, lights, and any other set-up that is needed by the customer.

S: Any other factors that make Jet 7 Bistro Catering extra special?

CB: Well, we do offer a coffee bar during events. Instead of liquor, we ask our clients if they want fancy coffee drinks for their guests. Right now, our packages are also super flexible — we can tailor-make the menu according to the party theme, or serve food that are off-menu. It really depends if the customer asks.

CB: No problem! We’re looking forward to new beginnings.
